THE CHALLENGE

More and more seniors turn

65 EVERY DAY

More and more of them lack the means to afford safe, quality housing.

Homelessness among seniors is projected to

INCREASE 33% by 2020

INCREASE 100% by 2050

The need for low-cost housing for seniors is of paramount importance.

According to the National Low Income Housing Coalition, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia need to add around

350,000 HOUSING UNITS

to fill the current affordable housing gap.

THE SOLUTION

Fellowship Square is home to

800+ SENIORS

living on a very low fixed income.

More than just a roof over their heads, we provide a multitude of programs and services to enhance their quality of living and help them age with dignity. At the same time, we work diligently within affordable housing coalitions to raise the alarm that more development is needed.

Fellowship Square contracts with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to cover expenses associated with each property including overall property management, mortgages, construction costs, building maintenance, taxes, insurance, and rent subsidies. The housing contracts with HUD require Fellowship Square to meet federal regulations pertaining to income profiles of residents. Residents’ rents are no more than 30% of their annual income.

Residents’ rents are no more than
